Lost in his own thoughts, he wanders.
The obscurity of the nighttime sky was a veil that blanketed the bustling city, and pinpricks of flickering little jewels dot the dark skies above, accentuating the cloudless view of the moon. Yet it all went unnoticed to the citizens that moved about their businesses within the sea of city lights illuminating nearly every corner of their sights.
Walking, he blends with the crowds, eyes sharp and disillusioned to the people that pass him by; yet the reticent look on his features was but a mere front that masked his thoughts; his contemplative frame of mind, from the world around him.
The little teal dragon perched on his shoulder, only partially realized and virtually invisible to mere humans, lifts his head to look up at his partner’s face. Seemingly frowning up at him, he makes no sound; yet the concern that shone in his eyes was as clear as day. And so with his muzzle, he nudges past the blond’s hair and proceeds to tuck his head beneath the human’s jaw, as if to try and comfort him a little.
He hadn’t anticipated the sudden brushing motion.
Sensing his partner’s movements, the blond breaks away from his train of thought; with a mere sideways glance at the other, his frown only deepens. Had he really been so lost in thought that the action made him stiffen from a startle? Azure irises gaze into crimson ones, and a drawled, almost agitated-sounding sigh escapes his lips; but no, it wasn’t the little Digimon on his shoulder he felt annoyed at. Rather—…
A prickling sensation draws his attention, and he slows in his walk. One step, and then another; and soon, he comes to a full halt. Intuition was kicking in; even as he stood amidst the crowds, he could still discern the feeling of being watched from afar, or nearby. Perhaps even being followed.
Fleetingly, lucid blue eyes shift towards the probable source of the sensation.
Unexpected company approaches him, he senses.
Not even bothering to glance up at the presence, he keeps his gaze on the cup of coffee he ordered, swirling the dark liquid around to let the heat rise while tampering with the sediment that sank to the bottom of the paper cup.
Fleeting silence lingers in the air, but then a sigh escapes his lips. At this point he was fairly sure that they had their attention on him– for what reason was beyond him. Yet he isn’t going to lie and say his curiosity hadn’t been piqued. And so setting down the coffee beside his laptop, he addresses the stranger.

“–Any reason why you chose to bother me?”
