Discontented with how much of a wait that had already passed, Kiriha slumped his shoulders forward and propped his elbows on the diner’s counter, locking eyes with the plus-sized woman working behind the grill who had heard his complaint. If it had been anyone else, they’d already be quivering under her irritated stare. But oh no, not him.
Chances were she was going to spit in his food now. Or worse, swap out his order for something else. He doesn’t have the time or patience for that crap.
But hell if he was gonna back down from the woman’s glaring like a wuss.
