Moving back into town was the craziest thing he had done in a while. Running around with his family for business matters, trying to keep in touch with things back home, had all been long and rather uneventful, really. Coming back to Japan was like suddenly being thrust into another world (again) like he had been many years ago.
It was overwhelming really, for a rather private person suddenly to be well known by everyone around him, and a secret he had not been involved with so long suddenly known by everyone and their pet.
Now that he was (somewhat) settled in, he was starting to feel restless. There was so much more he didn’t know, so much he had to figure out, especially about the other worlds that merged with his own. Yes, he’d finally accepted the proposal that Akari had given him, albeit slowly and cautiously. But he couldn’t be on-guard forever, expecting every person was in on some sort of hoax to trick him.
But it was still a lot to process. That was why he was finally taking some initiative and delving into his (nonexistent) social skills. Moving around so often the past few years hadn’t really helped him in this regard, thus the reason he was standing awkwardly in front of the person he had finally decided to come to.
“…Hi.”
Nope, no social skills whatsoever.
It was always unsettling when time flies right by, escaping his notice as he focused on things that piqued his interests until it’s too late. So far, today had been a fairly eventful day, what with making up for lost time by catching up on his studies, indulging himself in his own research and investigating whereabouts of certain individuals. And by the time he brought his observations to a pause, it was only then he’d realized that he’d spent nearly the whole afternoon working without stop.
Even he had to admit, it was unbelievably exhausting.
Unlike any other day however, he wasn’t in the mood to return to his apartment just yet. After spending so much time in that small space of a condominium right after his move back to Japan, he didn’t want to be cooped up for the rest of the evening. And he had a feeling his aunt would show up by then; and truth be told as much as he trusted her he just wasn’t feeling up to listening to her chatter.
Which is why he settled for taking a breather outside, indulging himself with the cool evening breeze. And surprisingly, it did manage to calm his nerves somewhat. He sighed. Perhaps… perhaps his observations were coming to a null. From what he’s gathered, there have been no abnormalities after that incident. Maybe he really was pushing himself too hard for no reason. Still… He wanted to find out why they’ve reappeared. And if it’s an answer he wants, then it’s an answer he’s definitely going to ge–
A voice broke off his train of thought, and Kiriha turned his head to look at the dark-haired stranger before him with a quizzical look. The first thing he noticed about the other was his hesitance; the second thing was his unusually long hair. It almost made him frown; what did he approach him for? Lifting an eyebrow, he kept silent as he gazed over at him, then spoke.
“…Did you need something?”
An eyebrow smoothly raised at the other’s question, before both brows knitted themselves together, giving off the...
