Tasks;

Finally. All of his studies were done for the day, which meant he finally got the chance to sit back, relax and maybe continue his explorations… If it weren’t for his tutor cramming his World History lessons together and expecting him to finish his assignment for school as soon as possible. It was just one of the disadvantages of transferring from foreign schools, especially when enrolling in the middle of terms; apparently you’re expected to keep up with the lessons, whether or not they differed from those of your previous schools.

Keeping his eyes on his laptop’s screen, Kiriha continued to type away the draft of his essay he was working on. He then paused, took a moment to look over the draft, then sighed and propped his elbows on the table, clasped his hands and rested his chin, eyebrows narrowed at the screen discontentedly. Sometimes he wondered how and when he’d become so… hm. Domestic probably wasn’t the right term to describe himself. Mature? … Well, he was pretty much gifted with that trait already.

So… linear. That sounded close enough. He was going about his day-to-day life in a more steady, yet forward pace. It still felt like an odd feeling to him, even though years have passed since the dilemma concerning the DigiQuartz.

Yet even with the reappearance of Digimon in the human world following Quartzmon’s defeat, everyday life for the Hunters seemed peaceful… Too peaceful in his opinion.

It was questionable.

He remembered the moment after Quartzmon had been defeated; when both humans and Digimon had to be restored to their own worlds. The Old Clock Shop Man mentioned just that. So, why did Digimon reappear only a month later? The answer to that question was something Kiriha had obliged himself to search for.

“Kiriha?” A small voice spoke. “Are you okay?”

Kiriha glanced over to his Xros Loader beside his laptop, then shook his head at the young dragon Digimon on-screen. “Of course I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Dracomon seemed to frown. “Sorry…”

The blonde lifted an eyebrow at him. “Why are you apologizing? It’s not like you’ve done anything wrong.”

“Well… I thought you were still thinking about the whole investigations thing, and I thought you were upset about it…”

“Heh. You should know by now it takes a lot more than that to get me riled up.”

Dracomon paused. “Yeah… You’re right!” He then laughed. “I just thought you were unhappy about the result so far. But if Kiriha can get through it, then so can we!”

“Hah, alright, alright,” he shook his head. “We’ll talk about it later. I still have this essay to work on.”

“I still don’t really understand the human’s ways of learning, but okay,” Dracomon said, and then his image disappeared from the screen.

Kiriha remained silent afterwards, averting his eyes towards the iced coffee by his Xros Loader. Although he wasn’t too keen lingering around busy places, he had to admit that dropping by this café was a good idea. The café may have been a bit packed, but it still had an unexpectedly calm atmosphere. It was an okay change of pace from his usual routine.

Glancing back at his laptop’s screen, he wordlessly took the drink, a hand still propped under his jaw, and disregarded the occasional person passing him by.
